Urbanna Boat Yard & Marina, also known as URBBY, is located in the quaint and very historic, coastal town of Urbanna, Virginia. Urbanna is named for Queen Anne and was incorporated in 1680. Home to the famous John Mitchell Map which is the most comprehensive map of Eastern North America and was used as a primary source during the Treaty of Paris. You can see it for yourself in the Urbanna Museum which is the last Scottish Factor in the United States and it’s just a short walk from URBBY.
URBBY opened on April 1, 2022, and is owned and operated by Amy and Andy Anderson. The beautiful marina covers over 7 acres and has 172 wet slips for power or sail boats, an award winning boat mechanic, a full service working boat yard, a well-stocked Boutique, a fuel dock serving both diesel and non-ethanol fuel, tastefully decorated,

Urbanna is also renowned for its legendary Oyster Festival. Since 1958, each year, at the beginning of November over 50,000 people descend on Urbanna. This festival started as a means to help town merchants sell enough goods to survive the winters. What started small has turned into one of the top ten oyster festivals in the country and

What started small has turned into one of the top ten oyster festivals in the country and is a not-to-be-missed extravaganza. In fact this oyster festival is the oldest in this country and second in the world.
Every Oyster Festival delivers new Oyster shucking champions. Deborah Pratt, who lives locally, has won 4 International competitions with one being the World’s Fastest Oyster Shucking contest in Ireland. You may bump into her while enjoying dinner at any one of our restaurants just a short walk from URBBY.
